VSEPR Theory
LEARNING TARGET: STUDENTS CAN EXPLAIN THE VSEPR THEORY AND IDENTIFY THE DIFFERENT VSEPR MODELS.
The VSEPR theory is a group of structures that have demonstrated that all covalent bonds have. These structures have precise angles and atom amounts that need to be memorized for complete understanding. Use the interactive to the right to see these structures in 3D. We will also be building these structures and practicing drawing them. REMEMBER that there is only ONE correct way to draw a structure unless it has a resonance structure. The calculation for the drawings will help you find this structure for each molecule.

Build the Molecules In Class Activity
For each of the VSEPR models use clay to build a 3D model. Use the Interactive 3D model activity at the top of the page to help you. You should have 8 models when you have completed this activity.
